As we come together after decades of family life, we find ourselves in a unique position. Rather than a traditional gift registry, we’d like to do something different—something that could make a lasting impact on others. We invite you to consider a monetary donation to a cause close to our hearts: Our Responsibility.

Our Responsibility is a faith-based nonprofit based near Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga, South Africa. This organization teaches local children and teens about wildlife conservation and stewardship. Their goal is to empower youth to resist the temptations of the black market, which preys on their vulnerability, by providing them with strong core values and sustainable alternatives.

Eco-tourism plays a crucial role in the region’s growth and stability, but locals often face a difficult choice between preserving wildlife and meeting immediate needs. Our Responsibility helps bridge that gap.

Founded and led by Tsundzukani Hlongwane, a world-class tracker and nature guide, the organization’s mission is one we deeply believe in. Gerrit has known Tsundzukani for years, and we trust him and his vision for the future.

We invite you to join us in raising funds for the construction of a school building for Our Responsibility. The organization has already purchased land and begun saving for materials and labor. Their next step is to create a dedicated space for after-school programs, tutoring, job training, and mentoring.

You can contribute by writing “Our Responsibility” in the memo line of a check, and we will collect all donations to present to Tsundzukani directly.
